There are lots of suggestions for what you should or shouldn't do to create your new year. From listing your wants (look up the meaning of want in an old dictionary and you might just erase that word from your vocabulary), to creating energetic bubbles and filling them with golden suns, to setting goals (another word you'll stop using once you look it up), to buying exercise programs and diet books, and creating mock-ups or vision boards, everyone's giving you advice on how to have the best year ever.
Does any of that truly work for more than a few weeks?
I have a question for you and it's pretty irreverent… What do YOU know about creating a life that will make you want to roll out of bed every morning?
Here's a gift that you can start playing with right now to step into what you know:
What if 2014 is less a length of time and more an energy? What if 2014 is an entity with a life of its own?
See, if you get that the upcoming year has a life-force of its own, you can start to have fun with it. You can start to ask it questions and go beyond what everyone else is doing and step into what you actually know.
Here are a couple questions I'm asking 2014 and you're welcome to use them too!
OK. So you've been playing with questions and you're starting to get that changing stuff you didn't think you could change is actually possible. Yay!
If you want to keep the change coming, it might be time to acknowledge that you're different. Like, really different.
See, if you don't acknowledge how unique and special you are, you might stick yourself with the shifts you've thus far created which is cool, but don't stop looking foreword into what else is possible now!
Stopping is a lot like dying but being kind of alive too. It's Zombie life and I hope that's not what you're doing because the teenagers on the planet will kill you!
Don't believe me? Not only do I live with a couple of them, I taught high schoolers for a long time and I guarantee that each one has a Zombie Survival Plan. Just ask any kid between the ages of like, 14 or 15 and 18.
The plan varies slightly for each teen but in general includes grabbing a couple buddies, getting to a big box outlet store where survival supplies are plentiful, stocking up on weapons and ammo, Red Bull, Coke and Spicy Hot Cheetos, and then heading deep into the mountains. Oh, and slaughtering zombies along the way.
Trust me, you don't want to run into one of those guys in the midst of Zombie-ing out. Worse than being slayed for your unwillingness to create is the fact that you're unliving. And unliving is exactly what you're doing if you're not generating the life YOU know is possible. A little hint here, the life you know is possible is not gonna look like the life anyone else is having. Why? Remember silly, you're actually different. Celebrate the difference and thrive. Or hide from the teenagers.
On your mark. Get set. Go. Step into the least comfortable and normal thing you can and let me know how it goes.
In my last blog post I suggested that readers start asking the basic question what can I add to my life? Since I like to walk my talk, I too asked what can I add to my life that will...
